How to install it

1. Tap the button above. Your phone downloads a file called genprompt-android-1.0.0.apk. Chrome warns that the file “might be harmful”: it says that about every app that does not come from Google Play. Tap “Download anyway”.
2. Open it from the notification or from your Downloads folder.
3. If Android says it isn’t allowed to install unknown apps, tap Settings, turn on “Allow from this source”, go back and tap the file again. You only do this once.
4. Tap Install. GENPROMPT appears on your home screen.

Why not Google Play?

The app is on its way to Google Play, but it is still in closed testing there. Until then, this is the same app, signed by us and downloaded straight from our own site.

If you later install GENPROMPT from Google Play, uninstall this version first: Android does not let one replace the other.

Rather not install anything?

On Android, Chrome can also add GENPROMPT to your home screen from its menu (⋮ → Install app). On iPhone, use Share → Add to Home Screen in Safari.
